Marc Lipman is the president of Lloyd’s of London’s Canadian arm, as well as attorney-in-fact for Lloyd’s underwriters. He joined Lloyd’s in June 2020 from AIG Insurance Company of Canada, where he spent 15 years of his career in a series of senior leadership roles. He was most recently chief operating officer at AIG, responsible for the development and execution of a wide range of business strategies and operational initiatives. Prior to this role, he held the position of chief of staff at AIG, from 2014 to 2016; and VP general counsel and secretary, from 2005 to 2010. Before he joined insurance giant, he worked at Scotiabank as senior legal counsel specialising in project finance and international hotel and resort lending, from 1996 to 2005. Lipman earned an LLB in Law from York University – Osgoode Hall Law School, and LLM in International Business Transactions from London School of Economics and Political Science.
