To make it to Insurance Business Canada’s 2022 Top Insurance Employers awardee list, an insurance company must score a satisfaction rating of 80% or more. The companies' employees have scored their employer based on several criteria, including benefits, culture, employee development, as well as diversity and inclusion.

One of this year’s awardees is CAA Club Group of Companies (CCG). Comprised of two automobile clubs – CAA South Central Ontario and CAA Manitoba – the company provides roadside assistance, travel, insurance service and savings for its 2.5 million members.

CCG is proud of its work culture, which it has described as “fast paced, performance-driven and rewarding.” The company does not miss an opportunity to recognize individual employees for their achievements and results, and places value on their career growth and ongoing professional development through tuition reimbursements, scholarship programs, secondment opportunities, and even a referral program, among other initiatives.

The company is also driven by its mission of keeping people safe. On top of advocating for its auto club members, CCG also gives back to the communities it operates. It has a volunteer recognition program, where CCG donates $500 to non-profit and charity organizations where its employees volunteer 35 hours a year, and holds what it calls “charity casual weeks,” where employees wear jeans during the period for $5 each month to support a charity.

However, it is in its health and wellbeing benefits for employees where CCG truly shines. The company gives its employees full access to benefits such as family assistance programs, wellness consultants, telemedicine, as well as daily breaks for stretching and meditation.

This benefit does not stop with just its employees. Just last month, CCG launched a new wellness app made specially for the broker partners it works with. The app provides access to resources and tips for physical, mental, and financial wellbeing, and can even track users’ fitness activities.
