Wholesale insurance brokerage and underwriting firm Burns & Wilcox has announced that it has formed an exclusive partnership in Canada with Loadsure – a global insurtech managing general agent and Lloyd’s coverholder.

Through the partnership, Burns & Wilcox will serve as the sole wholesale representative in Canada to deploy Loadsure’s AI-powered, on-demand, pay-as-you-go trip transit insurance coverage to independent brokers across the country. This coverage is designed for the over-the-road trucking market as well as for businesses and insureds that require goods to be shipped by land, air, and sea.

“At Burns & Wilcox, we strive to provide the best coverage for our clients while ensuring success for the future, including the use of tech-based platforms like Loadsure,” said H.W. Kaufman Group executive vice president and Burns & Wilcox Canada president Jodie Kaufman Davis.

Davis also noted that Loadsure’s automated approach to securing coverage “keeps up with the needs of shippers, brokers, and carriers,” and that the offering can effectively supplement annual-based policies.

“We are excited to deploy this capability to our broker partners across Canada as it will dramatically reduce a broker’s response times to their customer’s single load coverage requirements and showcase the greater need for usage-based insurance options,” added Burns & Wilcox Canada associate manager of transportation Fernando Batista.

Burns & Wilcox is one of the major subsidiaries of H.W. Kaufman Group. In December, Daniel J. Kaufman was tapped to serve as president of Burns & Wilcox. Kaufman had previously served as chief operating officer – a role he held since 2018.
