Allianz Global Assistance has appointed Claudia Baino as business development director, according to Travel Press.
Baino has 35 years of experience in the travel industry, with a background in business development and strategic partnerships.
In this role, she will lead Allianz’s business development initiatives, establish new partnerships, and strengthen existing relationships within the travel and financial services sectors.
Commenting on her appointment, Baino said she is looking forward to contributing to Allianz’s growth by working with colleagues, industry partners and clients.
“In today’s environment, travel insurance is a must-have, and I am committed to making a positive impact by assisting our partners in protecting their customers’ travel investments,” Baino said.
Meanwhile, Kyle Sparkman, managing director and head of Allianz Global Assistance Canada, stated that Baino’s approach to partnerships and solution development aligns with the company’s values.
“Her dedication to partnership and her passion for developing innovative solutions align perfectly with our core values,” Sparkman said. “Claudia’s leadership and strategic vision will undoubtedly contribute to our continued success as Canada’s leading travel insurance provider.”
Sparkman was appointed to his role last December, succeeding Chris Van Kooten, who left the company in October 2024. He has more than 25 years of experience in the financial services industry.

Allianz Global Assistance, which operates as a specialist brand under Allianz Partners, has been providing travel insurance and assistance services to customers for more than 35 years. The company works with partners in the broker, travel and financial services sectors to provide its services and solutions.
