Benefits by Design (BBD), a customized group insurance plans provider and benefits administrator, has formed a collaboration with PocketPills, a pharmacy company that operates a digital platform.

Through the partnership, BBD’s plan members who fill their prescriptions at PocketPills will get higher coverage and their copay will be lower than going to a traditional pharmacy. Plan members will be able to seamlessly share their medication and insurance information with PocketPills, instantly connecting with pharmacists and easily managing their medication through the pharma company’s digital platform.

PocketPills not only handles prescriptions and the purchasing of medication, but also offers free medication delivery. The company also sorts members’ medications by dose into convenient “PocketPacks.”

“After receiving positive feedback from our staff on their use of PocketPills, we are excited to bring that same experience to our customers,” said BBD managing partner Mike McClenahan. “PocketPills provides plan members with a unique combination of convenience and prescription medication management at an extremely affordable price.”

McClenahan added that PocketPills’ service is “especially valuable” during a time like the COVID-19 pandemic, since it allows plan members to order prescriptions online and have the medication conveniently delivered right to their doorsteps.

“We’re thrilled to bring convenience and affordable medication to Canadians across the country with BBD,” commented PocketPills COO Harj Samra. “The devastating impact of COVID-19 has demonstrated a great need for safe and affordable access to medication. PocketPills has never been prouder to provide free doorstep delivery of medication and virtual access to pharmacists throughout all of Canada.”

PocketPills has also partnered with Green Shield Canada (GSC) in a similar deal, to improve the delivery of critical medication to GSC’s group plan members.
