Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance (BHSI) has expanded its suite of Executive Lines products for private companies in Canada, adding new modular coverage options and appointing Shaun Lue as Private Company Leader.
The expanded suite includes Directors & Officers Liability, Fiduciary Liability, and Employment Practices Liability, building on the existing Crime and Side A Difference in Conditions (DIC) Insurance available in all provinces and territories.
The new offering is part of BHSI’s effort to broaden its presence in the Canadian executive liability market. The coverage is designed for private companies of varying sizes and sectors, including those with US operations. The insurer has indicated that it imposes no minimum premium thresholds, applies no industry-specific exclusions, and offers limits of up to $25 million.
Shaun Lue (pictured), who joined BHSI in 2021 and was promoted to assistant vice president, executive lines in 2023, will oversee the development and underwriting of the private company segment. He brings over a decade of experience in executive liability and holds the Chartered Insurance Professional designation.
“We are excited to round out our Executive Lines offerings and further strengthen our partnerships with private companies throughout Canada,” said Andrew Knight, Country Manager and Head of Executive & Professional Lines, Canada, at BHSI.
BHSI, a subsidiary of Berkshire Hathaway Inc., provides commercial property, casualty, healthcare professional liability, executive and professional lines, surety, and marine insurance.
