BrokerLink has expanded its presence in Alberta and Atlantic Canada by acquiring Bankers and Traders Insurance in Edmonton; Aspen Insurance Brokers Ltd. In Calgary, and SeaLand Insurance Corp. in St. John’s.
The transactions were completed on March 1, the company said.
These acquisitions strengthen BrokerLink’s expertise and extend its reach in each city and surrounding areas, reflecting its commitment to growth and investment in Alberta and Atlantic Canada.
Bankers and Traders Insurance has provided insurance services to high-net-worth personal insurance customers for 25 years. The general insurance brokerage, spanning three generations, is known for its risk expertise and ability to support customers with complex policies in Edmonton and surrounding areas.
Meanwhile, Aspen Insurance has offered personal home, auto, travel and commercial insurance for over a decade. The brokerage provides insurance advice and product expertise tailored to customers in Calgary and nearby communities.
SeaLand Insurance has been an insurance provider since 2012, specializing in the marine industry and general business. As a commercial fishing vessel broker, SeaLand Insurance expands BrokerLink’s marine expertise and enhances its marine insurance program and product offerings.
BrokerLink president Joe D’Annunzio stated that the acquisitions increase the company’s presence in Edmonton, Calgary and St. John’s while integrating experienced professionals with specialized knowledge in their communities. He added that BrokerLink remains focused on growth and adapting to customer needs.
In February, D’Annunzio said the company is on track to achieving its goal of becoming a $5-billion brokerage by this year. Earlier that month, the company acquired Schill Insurance Brokers Ltd., marking its entry in British Columbia.
“Last year, we finished over $4 billion, and we’re on track to hit $5 billion by year-end. That plan remains intact,” D’Annunzio said.
Employees from Bankers and Traders Insurance, Aspen Insurance and SeaLand Insurance will continue serving their local communities as part of the BrokerLink team.
