The results are in for iA Financial Group’s annual philanthropic contest, and 10 charities will win a total of $400,000 in donations from the insurer.

The insurer first announced the finalists for the contest last month. Nearly 250 charities participated in the nomination period, and a jury selected the winning 10. Both the public and iA Financial employees were invited to vote which among the 10 finalists would win the top donation prize.

The top three finalists would each receive $100,000, while the remaining seven finalists will each receive $10,000.

The three organizations that received the most votes were the Fondation prevention du suicide Accalmie in Trois-Rivières, QC, the Children's Health Foundation in London, ON, and Crossroads for Women in Moncton, NB. They each receive a $100,000 donation.

The remaining finalists were Covenant House Vancouver, Karis Support Society in Kelowna, BC, University Hospital Foundation in Edmonton, AB, DASH in Winnipeg, MB, Mikinakoos Children's Fund in Thunder Bay, ON, Nanny Angel Network in Toronto, ON, and Éducaide in Quebec, QC. Each of them will receive $10,000 from iA Financial.

"We are happy to provide financial support to Canadian charities through our annual philanthropic contest. This year, now more than ever, it's very important for people to get involved in their community,” said iA Financial Group president and CEO Denis Ricard. “I want to sincerely thank all the organizations that took part and congratulate the winners. Thank you for working every day to make the world a better place and change people's lives for the better.”
