Insurance Institute awards outstanding industry leaders
The Insurance Institute has recognised three outstanding leaders within property and casualty insurance, who have been honoured in the 2016 CIP Society National Leadership Awards.

The awards, which form the only national program of its kind, celebrate leaders within the CIP Society who demonstrate a passion for lifelong learning and dedication to their employer, along with the profession and community as a whole.

This year, the CIP Society – the graduate division of the Insurance Institute – honoured Laura Van Vliet of Aligned Insurance in the Emerging Leader category; alongside Paul Martin of RRJ Insurance Group and Robert Pearson of Town & Country Mutual Insurance Company in the Established Leader category.

By recognising both established and emerging leaders, the awards highlight the scope of the industry, Julie Pingree, chair of the CIP Society National Council said.

Pingree said that this year’s awards had “shone a light on the achievements of members like Laura, who is emerging as a leader early in her career, and members like Paul and Robert who have established longstanding professionalism with decades of experience.”

Peter Hohman, president and CEO of the Insurance Institute said this year’s honourees were selected for a combination of mentorship, dedication to the growth of their organizations and contributions to the industry at large, adding that the awards have “recognized a very high standard of leaders and mentors over the years.”

The 2016 honourees will be presented with a one of-a-kind sculpture and inducted into the CIP Society Leadership Circle.
