Securian Canada has released its first Beyond Business Report, a summary of its 2024 initiatives focused on inclusion and community involvement.
The report outlines how the insurer is aligning its life insurance partnerships with broader social programs to expand access and support underserved communities.
The company, which provides a range of life and health insurance products in the Canadian market, is using its partnerships to extend its brand presence while contributing to community engagement initiatives. The report highlights collaborations that use insurance sponsorships as entry points for inclusion efforts.
Among the report’s key initiatives are Securian Canada’s roles as the official life insurance partner of the Canadian Football League (CFL) and the Toronto Maple Leafs. Through the CFL, the insurer supports the Diversity in Football program, which provides opportunities for individuals from diverse backgrounds to gain experience in professional sports.
Its work with the Maple Leafs includes sponsorship of the MLSE Foundation’s Home Ice Hockey program, aimed at providing youth in underserved communities with access to equipment, coaching and ice time.
“As a purpose-driven, people-first organization, we make it our mission to align our actions with our core values,” said Nigel Branker (pictured), chief executive officer of Securian Canada. “In order to build secure tomorrows, we have a responsibility to show up for others – not just through the products and solutions we offer, but also through the intentional actions we take to support employees, clients, partners and members of our local communities.
“Beyond Business highlights the impactful work from 2024 and offers readers a glimpse into our unwavering commitment to inclusion and its significant role in our organization.”
Securian Canada has been serving Canadians for over 65 years, offering a range of insurance products. The company operates with local expertise while being part of Securian Financial, its US-based parent organization.
