The Co-operators has appointed Kevin Daniel as executive vice-president and chief client officer.

As EVP and chief client officer, Daniel will be responsible for leading the company’s client engagement functions – these functions include sales and service, contact centre operations, P&C claims, and client service operations. According to a release, his appointment comes into effect December 21, 2018.

Daniel is currently vice-president and chief operating officer for Co-operators Life Insurance Company. He is also the president and chief operating officer of The CUMIS Group. Daniel joined The Co-operators in 1986 and has since held a number of key leadership positions within the company, in both the P&C and life insurance business.

Daniel’s many roles in the company include vice-president of finance for Co-operators General Insurance Company, vice-president of finance for Co-operators Life Insurance Company and senior vice-president and chief financial officer for The Co-operators Group Limited. A release noted that he has been a critical member of The Co-operators’ senior management team for the past 15 years.

“Kevin is a seasoned and respected leader who has guided our life insurance company through some of its most significant economic challenges – helping The Co-operators become a stronger and more diversified organization,” said The Co-operators president and CEO Rob Wesseling.

“He has skillfully led substantial organizational change, while building a strong life insurance offering for our clients and honing our wealth management capabilities. Kevin is well-positioned to ensure our clients continue to receive the industry-leading service they have come to depend on from The Co-operators,” Wesseling added.
