CAMGA knows that dedicated education and connection for Canada’s MGA community is important.
Taking place on November 17, 2026 - the same day as the Insurance Business Awards, the CAMGA Capacity Exchange & Education Forum offers MGA professionals an opportunity to invest in their businesses and professional growth during the day, then come together in the evening to celebrate the people and achievements shaping the industry. MGA professionals will gather at the Donald K. Johnson Centre, First Canadian Place, Toronto.
The MGA sector continues to evolve, with regulatory expectations, emerging technologies, changing capacity relationships and business valuation considerations all creating new opportunities and challenges.
The morning begins with A Status Update on MGA Regulation – Where Are We Now?, a timely discussion featuring Patrick Ballantyne as moderator, alongside Mario Fiorino, vice president and general counsel at the Insurance Bureau of Canada; Anandhi Sarvananthan, managing director of insurance supervision at the Office of the Superintendent of Financial Institutions; and Mark Abraham, CEO of RIBO.
The morning also features an MGA Professional Roundtable, bringing together experienced leaders from across the sector to discuss what the industry has learned and where it is heading. Featuring Greg Irvine of Navacord, Robyn Beswick of ABEX Insurance, Maz Moini of NovaRisk and Caroline Mills-White of Linx Underwriting, the session will provide an opportunity to explore the opportunities, pressures and priorities influencing MGA businesses today.
The afternoon offers attendees the opportunity to pursue topics that align with their business interests and strategic priorities.
The general education track will explore three timely subjects: emerging technology risks beyond cyber, the importance of understanding and creating value in an MGA, and the opportunities captives may present for MGA businesses.
Stephanie Banning of HSB will examine the expanding technology risk landscape, while Pete Kampf and David Riley of MarshBerry will discuss MGA valuation and business value. Laurie LaPalme, global insurance sector leader at Dentons, will lead a session introducing captives and the opportunities they may offer MGAs.
Attendees interested in technology will also have the opportunity to explore solutions and emerging trends through a dedicated MGA Technology Track. The dedicated Capacity Exchange Track will give attendees the opportunity to connect directly with capacity providers in semi-private meeting spaces. The day concludes with a networking reception.
In the evening, CAMGA and the MGA community looks forward to the Insurance Business Awards, an opportunity to recognize the MGA professionals whose leadership contribute to the strength of Canada's insurance industry.
