RAISE Underwriting Limited has appointed Matt Baynton (pictured) as the managing general agent’s (MGA) chief executive officer.
As CEO of RAISE, Baynton will be responsible for the strategic direction and growth of the company.

Baynton has almost two decades of experience in the insurance industry, and most recently served as senior vice-president of surety at Trisura Guarantee Insurance Company – where he spent about 14 years of his career. He first started as a senior underwriter at Trisura, then later served a number of leadership roles within the company’s surety business. Prior to joining Trisura in 2007, he was a surety underwriter at CNA Insurance for three years.
Established in 2017, RAISE is a boutique MGA specializing in bespoke insurance and bonding solutions to the development and construction community. The firm has offices in Toronto and Vancouver.
