BrokerLink, one of Canada’s largest property and casualty (P&C) insurance brokerages, has continued its acquisition spree with two new transactions in Ontario. Effective April 1, 2022, the firm has welcomed Greg Kelly Insurance Brokerage Ltd. and Rice Inc. into its fold.

Founded in 2007, Greg Kelly Insurance provides essential insurance products, including home, auto, business, marine, and travel insurance from its two offices in Barry’s Bay and Eganville. Following the deal, the Greg Kelly team will continue providing their local expertise to customers in Eastern Ontario as part of the BrokerLink team.

“Our priority has always been to provide our communities with advice they can trust,” said Greg Kelly, president of Greg Kelly Insurance. “By joining BrokerLink, I know our customers will continue receiving the same local service they have come to expect, with new product options available to them through the additional purchasing power of a larger organization.”

Rice Inc., founded in 1965, is based in Kitchener and delivers home, auto, and business insurance, with specializations in cottage and sports insurance. The Rice Inc. team has also joined BrokerLink and will continue to serve their local community.

“We take pride in the excellent service we’ve been able to deliver to customers over the last 57 years,” said Christopher Rice, president of Rice Inc. “BrokerLink is a natural fit for us, with a great local reputation for customer service, and I trust that our employees will continue to grow with the company.”

Over the past year, BrokerLink has acquired several Ontario-based brokerages, including Cambrian Insurance, Lackner McLennan Insurance, McVey Bros. Insurance, Stevenson Insurance, Blair Insurance, and most recently, A & A Insurance. Founded in 1991, the brokerage now has over 200 branches and 3,000 employees across Canada.

Joe D’Annunzio, president of BrokerLink, commented: “We believe insurance is about people, and we’re always looking for new opportunities to offer our expertise and advice to customers. We admire the strong community ties that Greg Kelly Insurance and Rice Inc. have created and we plan on continuing to develop relationships in Barry's Bay, Eganville, Kitchener and the outlying communities they serve.”
