Allianz Commercial has named a new branch manager for its Birmingham office, responsible for overseeing all trading activities within the Midlands.

The insurer has appointed Lynn Taylor (pictured) to the role, with Taylor transitioning to Allianz Commercial from Aviva. Allianz Commercial notes that she will be key in bolstering the brand’s presence across the region through collaboration with the company’s distribution teams.

During her tenure as regional trading lead at Aviva, Taylor was instrumental in steering the overall performance of the Midlands region. She was with Aviva for more than three decades, five of which was as trading manager and the rest as an underwriting manager, both of which were also headquartered in Birmingham.

In her new capacity, Taylor will helm multidisciplinary underwriting teams at Allianz’s regional flagship branch located in Birmingham’s core. The insurer described her appointment as a profitable expansion of the commercial market in the Midlands, which ranks as the largest single commercial market outside London.

Graham Stait, regional manager for the Midlands & South West at Allianz Commercial, commented on Taylor’s appointment, highlighting her extensive industry background and expertise.

“With over 30 years industry experience in trading with regional, national, and global brokers, Lynn brings with her an extensive knowledge of the Birmingham insurance market. She also has a proven track of building positive and long-standing relationships with brokers alongside a clear passion for developing high performance teams. I’m delighted to welcome her to the team,” Stait said.

Besides its focus on trading activities in the Midlands, Allianz also recently announced an expansion with the creation of an in-house financial lines claims unit, headquartered in Milton Keynes, focusing on D&O and PI propositions.
