Specialty broker Ed has made a swoop for a new casualty treaty hire.

Robert Sharp is its new head of casualty treaty, divisional director, based in London. He will report to divisional CEO Heather Clarkson.

Sharp has spent 13 years as a reinsurance broker, and built up significant experience with a stint at Aon, most recently holding the role of account executive for its reinsurance solutions team.

“Reinsurance remains an integral area of growth for Ed and it is vital that we attract and invest in the best industry talent,” said Clarkson. “Robert has a proven track record of excellent client service and brings useful casualty experience across reinsurance, MGAs and consortiums. His experience in various market regions, including London and the US, is in keeping with Ed’s global footprint and outlook, making him a valued member of our team.”
