Senior leadership changes have been announced at two London market carriers, with Brit naming a new head of operations and Beazley adding its group chief underwriting officer to the board.

Brit head of operations

Brit Group has appointed Jane Bioletti (pictured above, left) as head of operations. She joined the business in December and reports to operations director Susan Andrew as part of Brit’s operations leadership team.

Bioletti arrives from Lloyd’s, where she spent more than 10 years and most recently served as Head of Delegated Authorities. In that role, she led Lloyd’s Delegated Authority Oversight and Operations division, giving her direct exposure to market governance, oversight processes and delegated distribution models.

At Brit, Bioletti will help lead and implement further enhancements to the firm’s underwriting support services. The remit covers process efficiency, data discipline and operational support for Brit’s underwriting and distribution platforms.

“Driving ever improving processes and data quality for our underwriting teams is an important enabler of Brit’s position as a market lead,” Andrew said. She added that Bioletti brings a broad range of experience in operational change and digital transformation, combined with a long-standing understanding of the Lloyd’s market.

Bioletti’s appointment comes amid a period of growth for the group as it reported a profit before tax of US$307.7 million in the first half of 2025, up from US$301.3 million during the same period in 2024.

ARAG sustainability manager

ARAG has created a new sustainability leadership role and appointed Jess Tasney (pictured above, middle) as sustainability manager, tasking her with overseeing the legal expenses and assistance insurer’s environmental, social and governance (ESG) strategy. She will be responsible for progressing ARAG’s ESG agenda, strengthening reporting, and coordinating initiatives aimed at delivering outcomes for the environment and wider society.

Tasney joins ARAG after almost three years as Carbon Reduction and Sustainability Manager at the University of Worcester. Before that, she held sustainability and environment roles at housing and care provider Sanctuary and served as Environment Projects Coordinator for Change Agents UK.

Her appointment reflects the growing organisational focus on ESG as ARAG continues to expand its UK operations. The new role sits within the people and corporate functions, with a remit that spans internal operations, stakeholder engagement and external reporting.

Commenting on the hire, head of people shared services Ian Screen said ARAG’s growth had increased the scale and complexity of its responsibilities. “ARAG is obviously a much bigger business than it was just a couple of years ago, which makes our environmental, social and governance responsibilities more complex, but also much more important,” he said.

Earlier this year, Allison Lewis, head of employment at ARAG, and William Ellerton, head of complex litigation, joined the board of trustees at Bristol Law Centre for an initial term of four years.

Beazley group CUO

Beazley plc, meanwhile, has confirmed that group chief underwriting officer Paul Bantick (pictured above, right) will join its board as an executive director from January 1. He will continue to lead strategic oversight of Beazley’s specialist underwriting portfolio in his existing role.

Bantick’s responsibilities span a wide range of classes, including property, specialty such as directors’ and officers’ (D&O), and lines including cyber, marine, aviation and political risks. His remit includes aligning growth strategy with underwriting discipline across these portfolios.

Over more than two decades at Beazley, Bantick has been closely associated with the development of the cyber insurance market. His track record includes involvement in the first cyber catastrophe bond and the creation of Beazley’s Full Spectrum Cyber proposition and Beazley Security unit, designed to support clients’ cyber resilience and incident response.

Beazley noted that his recent roles have centred on managing systemic risk, using data-led insight and developing client-focused solutions in cyber and other specialist classes. He previously served as group head of cyber risks and joined the company’s global executive committee in 2022.

Beazley CEO Adrian Cox said: “Paul Bantick has demonstrated leadership in underwriting, risk management, and strategic growth. His appointment to the Board will strengthen the Board’s technical depth and reinforce underwriting as a core driver of Beazley’s success.”

Recently, the group also created the role of head of digital follow underwriting and appointed Nat Cross to the position, effective February 1, 2026.
