Several senior appointments have been announced in the insurance industry in the last 24hrs.
DUAL Europe has appointed Amaury Berhault and Jaume Benajiba as managing directors of its transactional liability business in Europe. The pair bring substantial sector experience: they have over 17 years of experience in transactional liability underwriting and join DUAL from Acquinex, where they served as co‑heads for Southern Europe and Latin America.
DUAL said the hires sit alongside a team of underwriters across the Netherlands, Spain, Portugal, the DACH region, France and Italy, positioning the firm to write transactional risks across key European markets.
DUAL’s transactional risk practice provides a range of M&A‑related covers including Warranty & Indemnity (W&I) insurance, tax liability insurance, title insurance and contingent risks insurance. The business targets deal flow from complex, large transactions to smaller M&A opportunities.
Fenchurch Law has appointed Chris Wilkes (pictured) as a partner in its London office. Wilkes joins from DAC Beachcroft and brings more than four decades of insurance litigation experience, with the firm noting over 47 years of experience in insurance and reinsurance disputes. He is recommended by legal directories for work across product liability, property damage, construction and professional indemnity. The firm also noted his involvement in many COVID‑19 business interruption matters for insurer clients.
The appointment comes as Fenchurch continues to grow its UK and international practice; the firm opened an Istanbul office on October 1 this year. Fenchurch Law is a specialist adviser to policyholders and brokers. It works across a range of sectors including construction, professional services and cyber.
Wilkes’ move from the insurer side to a policyholder- and broker‑facing practice adds senior technical capacity in coverage disputes - relevant for firms handling large BI, property and professional indemnity claims and for brokers needing specialist advice in coverage contests.
