Specialist underwriting agency Avid Insurance Services has announced that it has inked a three-year deal with specialist insurer Chaucer to underwrite travel insurance, alongside its existing capacity arrangements.

Avid, which works out of offices in London and Leeds, discussed opportunities with several parties, but Chaucer’s “financial strength and security, along with its appetite for a long-term partnership, made Chaucer our partner of choice,” Stephen Gibson, the firm’s managing director, said in a release.

“This new partnership represents an exciting step forward for Avid Insurance Services as we bring together the strength of Avid’s scheme management and distribution channels, and Chaucer’s commitment to expanding profitable lines, to once again provide our clients with access to both A rated capacity and quality independent service providers,” he commented, adding that the strategic partnership will further enhance the underwriting agency’s ability to bring “innovative pricing and product specification to the UK travel insurance marketplace.”

Chaucer’s head of accident & health, Mike Bridgeman, added: “This is an exciting new partnership for Chaucer.
Throughout this process, we have been particularly impressed with Avid’s scheme management capabilities and their commitment to their broking partners and clients. We look forward to a productive future together.”
