Florida-based FCCI Insurance Group has appointed the first female member of its board of directors, a 30-year veteran in the insurance and human resources industries.

Lisa Krouse, FCCI executive vice president and chief human resources officer, will join the board of directors on April 27 while maintaining her current positions.

Krouse, who joined the company in 2005, is supporting leadership, career development and health and wellness programs at FCCI.

Krouse said she is looking forward to working with other directors in an increased capacity.

“I’m honored to be joining the board,” said Krouse. “I’ve always done my best to contribute to FCCI and have a positive impact, and I’m excited to be able to do that in a new way.”

FCCI President and CEO Craig Johnson said Krouse is an “excellent choice” for the board.

“She brings vision, strategic leadership and a passion for our culture. This is a milestone for FCCI, and we are fortunate to have such a strong candidate within the company,” he said.

“Lisa has served FCCI for more than a decade and her understanding of, and commitment to, our mission, values, and corporate character, along with her insurance and human resources experience, makes her a natural fit for our board,” added John Stafford, chairman of the board.

Krouse started her career in the insurance industry at the National Council on Compensation Insurance, where she worked for nearly 10 years.

Before joining FCCI, Krouse served as southeast region general counsel and vice president of human resources at Zenith Insurance Company.
