American International Group (AIG) has announced the appointment of Jamie Miller as North America Property chief underwriting officer for general insurance. Miller will report to Tom Bolt, chief underwriting officer for general insurance, and Lex Baugh, CEO of North America General Insurance.

Miller brings more than 35 years of experience to the new role, in which he will lead the overall strategic direction for North America general insurance property underwriting.

“We look forward to Jamie’s leadership, experience and expertise as we position AIG’s property business for profitable growth,” Bolt said. “Jamie deeply understands the opportunities and risks in the property space like few in the industry do.”

“We are pleased to have Jamie joining us at this important time,” Baugh said. “His capabilities and understanding of the industry will be key to strengthening our property portfolio, a cornerstone of the general insurance business.”

Miller will work in collaboration with AIG’s property leadership across regions, the company said. He will also work with reinsurance, claims, actuarial and other AIG teams to share insights and best practices, the company said.
