National insurance and financial services firm Alera Group has announced the appointment of Kyle Samuel (pictured) as executive vice president of national operations.

In his new role, Samuel is set to collaborate closely with national practice leaders and regional managing directors to enhance alignment and strategic direction within Alera Group’s operational framework.

Samuel enters the position with a history of over three decades in the insurance sector, having assumed several key executive roles across the industry.

His career trajectory includes leadership positions at McGriff, where he served as chief operating officer, and at M&T Insurance Agency as president. Additionally, Samuel has held managing director roles at USI Insurance Services and Wells Fargo Insurance Services, alongside a significant tenure at Aon Risk Solutions and an early career stint as a senior underwriter at Chubb Group of Insurance Companies.

Billy Corrigan, Alera Group’s chief operating officer, expressed confidence in Samuel’s capabilities, highlighting his extensive background in fostering high-performance teams and spearheading transformative cultural shifts within organizations.

“Kyle joins us with a proven track record of nurturing high-performance workforces and building a resilient, change-driven culture,” Corrigan said. “Kyle’s focus on optimizing resources and improving operational efficiency will be an asset for our rapidly growing company. We are excited to welcome Kyle to Alera Group.”

Samuel also expressed enthusiasm about joining the team and contributing to the firm’s strategic objectives.

“I’m thrilled to accept this opportunity to work alongside the outstanding and collaborative team at Alera Group,” Samuel said. “I am confident in my operational skills to support the company’s growth and proud to be a part of an organization that delivers exceptional client service and results.”

Samuel’s addition comes after a spate of deals for the firm, including Alera Group’s acquisition of Michigan-based Rick Young Insurance, finalized in October last year. The acquisition added employee benefits services and customized health care coverage to the broker’s portfolio.
