Alera Group has announced that it has acquired Michigan-based Rick Young Insurance. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Rick Young Insurance offers employee benefits services including customized health insurance coverage that includes outpatient care, maternity care, emergency, prescriptions and preventive services, Alera Group said in a news release. Rick Young Insurance also provides complimentary Medicare consultations and helps customers understand their medicare plans and determine if supplementary coverage is needed.

In 2022, the agency was included among the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services’ Marketplace Elite Plus Circle of Champions.

“For more than 30 years, our team of dedicated agents has been helping individuals, families, and small businesses find quality insurance plans,” said Rick Young, founder of Rick Young Insurance. “As longtime members of the community, we believe in our ability to help those in need with more than just insurance and take pride in supporting many local organizations.”

“Rick Young Insurance is committed to providing trusted advice, delivering outstanding service for clients and giving back to the communities they serve throughout Michigan,” said Alan Levitz, CEO of Alera Group. “We look forward to leveraging their expertise to bolster our existing employee benefits, individual and family health insurance solutions.”

Rick Young Insurance’s team will continue to serve in their existing roles, Alera Group said.

Rick Young Insurance is the latest addition to Alera Group’s roster. In the spring, the company acquired California-based iPros Insurance Professionals and Florida-based Wilson, Washburn & Forster Insurance.
