An Illinois woman wants compensation from
American Family Insurance after filing a legal complaint against Jeremy Vacca, an Alton insurance agent, following her accident on a disabled ramp at its offices.
Sandra Bennington lodged a lawsuit against the firm, claiming she had to undergo surgery to repair her back after she fell on it while descending on the disabled ramp at the company’s Washington Avenue premises.
Reporting on court documents, the
Madison-St. Clair Record said that Bennington alleged that the defendants failed to provide proper warning about the slippery flooring of the wheelchair ramp, install handrails and a suitable incline to ensure safe descent from the ramp.
The complainant has requested a trial by jury and seeks compensation in excess of $50,000 and additional costs of the lawsuit, and other remunerations as deemed just by the court.
