CNA has made three leadership appointments within its commercial insurance organization.
Michael Kirchgessner has been appointed to senior vice-president, underwriting for large/complex casualty business. He will be responsible for implementing underwriting strategies for the company’s large/complex casualty business. Kirchgessner will report to CNA president and chief operating officer, commercial Kevin Leidwinger.
Chris Thurman has been named senior vice-president, underwriting for workers’ compensation. He will oversee the strategic direction for the workers’ compensation range of products. He will report to CNA commercial chief underwriting officer Julie Stephenson.

Kelly Walsh has been tapped to serve as senior vice-president, underwriting for general liability. A release said that with her new role, she will manage the strategic direction of the general liability product line. Walsh will also report to Stephenson.
"The proven track record of performance, strong leadership and deep industry knowledge of these industry leaders exemplify the strength of our talent," Leidwinger said. "They are well suited to ensure our continued success and serve CNA's customers well."
