Donna Barclay named chief underwriting officer at The Guarantee Company of North America

One of North America’s largest specialty insurers has named a new chief underwriting officer of its property and casualty sector

Donna Barclay, a P&C expert with over 30 years of experience, has been named chief underwriting officer of Property and Casualty at The Guarantee Company of North America. The new position, which took effect July 25, was announced today by President and CEO Alister Campbell.
The new role will tap Barclay’s considerable experience in global insurer leadership, tasking her with the development and implementation of new underwriting solutions in order to service the ever-evolving P&C market. She will also provide technical underwriting leadership, support and authority to The Guarantee’s P&C underwriting teams, ensuring the successful achievement of key corporate strategies for profitable growth.

Barclay has previously held the position of Senior Vice President at AXIS Capital and Casualty Underwriting. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of Western Ontario, a Diplôme D’Études Collégiales from Marianopolis College, Montreal and an A.I.I.C. designation from the Insurance Institute of Canada.
