Arthur J. Gallagher & Co. has acquired the full-service insurance agency Wellington Associates in Flowood, MS.

Wellington Associates provides P&C and employee benefits coverages and services to both businesses and individuals in Mississippi. A release noted that the agency boasts expertise in serving a wide range of entities, such as schools, churches, and towing companies.

As part of the acquisition, Walter “Buster” Wellington, William “Billy” Horne and their associates will continue to operate from their current location. They will fall under the direction of Gallagher Mid-South region retail property/casualty brokerage operations head Bumpy Triche and South Central region employee benefits consulting and brokerage operations head Robby White.

“We have been building a tremendous business in Mississippi and our capabilities are becoming well-recognized. Adding Wellington bolsters our already strong business and brings into our fold a competitor who we, quite frankly, have a lot of respect for,” said Gallagher chairman, president and CEO J.
