GEICO has been named a top workplace by The Indianapolis Star for the third consecutive year, according to a news release.

The recognition was based on employee responses to a survey sponsored by the Star. The survey focused on various aspects of workplace culture and how connected to their company employees felt.

“We can't thank our associates enough for voting GEICO a Top Workplace for three consecutive years,” said Eric Stafford, assistant vice president of GEICO's Indianapolis office. “Since we opened our office in Carmel (Ind.) in 2013, the number of our associates has quadrupled to more than 1,000, and their hard work stretches well beyond supporting our policyholders.”

Employees at the Indianapolis office had high praise for the company.

“Before coming to GEICO, I worked on and off as a server at several restaurants to make ends meet as a single mom,” said Bonnie Huckabee, a sales agent who joined the company about a year ago. “GEICO was my first real job, and in one year’s time I’ve been promoted twice. I’m thankful to be part of a company that rewards hard work.”
