The Hanover Insurance Group has announced the election of Kathleen S. Lane to the company’s board of directors, effectively immediately.

Lane has over 30 years of professional experience, particularly in information technology. She most recently served as executive vice president and chief information officer at The TJX Companies. Prior to that, she was group chief information officer at National Grid. Lane has also served as chief information officer at the Gillette Company, at GE Oil & Gas and GE Vendor Financial Services, once held the position of director of technology services at Pepsi Cola International and began her career at The Procter & Gamble Company.

She earned her bachelor’s degree from The State University of New York, Albany, and a Master of Business Administration degree and a Master of Science degree in management information systems from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.

In addition to the various roles she has served throughout the years, Lane is also a director of flooring products producer Armstrong Flooring. She had previously served as director for both IT services provider EarthLink Holdings, as well as restaurant operator and food distributor Bob Evans Farms.
