Higginbotham, a Texas-based independent insurance, financial, and HR services firm, has announced an association with Program Insurance Group of Georgetown, Texas.
The firm is also the home of EZ CERT, an insurance certificate tracking service used by franchisors and franchisees nationwide.
Higginbotham chairman and CEO Rusty Reid (pictured above) said Program Insurance Group shares the company’s values and serves a range of business, personal, and nonprofit clients, with a focus on homebuilders in Texas. The firm also extends its reach nationally through EZ CERT, which provides insurance certificate tracking for franchise owners and operators.
EZ CERT aims to simplify compliance with franchisees while helping franchisors maintain coverage oversight.
Doug Groves acquired Program Insurance Group in 2010, building on a family history of serving homebuilder clients, particularly in tracking insurance coverage across contractor and subcontractor networks.
The company later expanded this expertise to franchise firms, helping them track various coverages across their franchisee portfolios. EZ CERT has since become a widely used tool for certificate tracking, with Higginbotham saying that it intends to integrate it into its broader network.
Throughout 2024, Higginbotham completed a number of notable acquisitions.
In April, Eagan Insurance Agency joined Higginbotham. Based in Metairie, La., Eagan Insurance is one of the oldest independent agencies in the New Orleans area.
Fountain, Parker, Harbarger & Associates was also acquired last year. Located in Huntsville, Ala., this partnership expanded Higginbotham's presence in the southeastern United States.
As of November 2024, Higginbotham has completed a total of 74 acquisitions.
Earlier this year, Higginbotham also partnered with Cattle Raisers Insurance to provide insurance solutions to ranchers, landowners and businesses across the state of Texas.
The partnership is also expected to allow customers to have more access to resources, industry expertise and opportunities that will allow them to grow and become more profitable.
