IAT Insurance Group has announced the appointment of Doug Johnson (pictured above) as a managing director in its assumed reinsurance division.
Johnson brings a wealth of experience, having most recently served at Munich Re as a property treaty lead and senior vice president. In this prior role, he led a team of underwriters and oversaw various critical aspects, including underwriting, pricing, and production for a substantial property portfolio.
Before his tenure in reinsurance, Johnson served at Munich Re Specialty Markets, focusing on producing and analyzing MGA program business. His insurance career commenced with Munich Re, where he underwent a comprehensive two-year risk analyst training program, gaining exposure to all facets of direct insurance operations.
He holds degrees from Illinois State University and the Katie School of Insurance. IAT touted his appointment as a significant move for the company, enhancing their leadership and capabilities within the reinsurance domain.
