Two insurance organizations are filling senior roles through opposite strategies: one recruiting a specialty underwriter from a competitor and the other promoting a six-year employee into a regional presidency.

SiriusPoint adds underwriting expertise to fast-growing crisis solutions business

SiriusPoint Ltd. has hired Ella Stevenson (pictured on the right) away from Chaucer Group to take on the role of crisis solutions underwriter, effective September 28, 2026.

Stevenson will be based in London and will join SiriusPoint's newly formed crisis solutions team, co-led by Ed Winter and Paul Beattie. She most recently worked as an underwriter within Chaucer Group's political violence and terrorism team.

Winter and Beattie themselves arrived at SiriusPoint only recently, with Winter joining from Markel and Beattie from Talbot Underwriting, both set to start on December 1, 2026.

The unit they lead will initially concentrate on war, political violence, and terrorism risks, written through SiriusPoint's Lloyd's platform, Syndicate 1945, putting Stevenson's hire into a team still in the early stages of its build-out.

In her new role, Stevenson will support the underwriting and development of SiriusPoint's crisis solutions portfolio. The appointment follows the launch of SiriusPoint's crisis solutions platform in May 2026.

Chris Fenn, SiriusPoint's global head of marine, linked the hire to wider activity across the specialty market. "The continued growth of our Crisis Solutions team reflects both the demand we are seeing across the global market and our ambition to build capability in our London Market Specialty division," Fenn said.

Fenn also pointed to Stevenson's background as a factor in the hire. "Ella brings a strong market reputation and underwriting experience, which will support the development of a disciplined and responsive portfolio," he said.

The move comes amid heightened focus on political violence and terrorism risk, Political violence has climbed to its highest-ever position on the 2026 Allianz Risk Barometer, with 53% of respondents globally naming armed conflict as the exposure they fear most, up from 48% the previous year; civil unrest followed at 49%, with terrorism and sabotage close behind at 46%.

Inszone promotes Jared Strong to lead East Region amid acquisition surge

Inszone Insurance Services has elevated Jared Strong (pictured on the left), who joined the company in 2018 as a producer, to Regional President of its East Region.

Strong's path to regional president began in 2018, when he joined Inszone as a producer. Since then, he has moved through several roles and leadership positions at the company.

The role he is stepping into sits atop one of the more active acquirers in the US broker market. Inszone ranked among the top three most active US broker buyers in 2025, alongside BroadStreet Partners and World Insurance Associates, with the three firms together accounting for 19.4% of 753 announced broker M&A transactions that year; the company has completed more than 130 acquisitions since its founding in 2002 and now operates across 22 states.

Chris Walters, CEO of Inszone Insurance Services, cited Strong's tenure as representative of the company's approach to staffing. "Jared's journey with Inszone is a great example of the opportunities we strive to create for our team," Walters said.

Walters connected the promotion to Inszone's leadership philosophy more generally.

"We believe in promoting from within and investing in our people, ensuring that our leadership understands both our clients and our culture," he said. "His leadership will be instrumental as we continue to rapidly expand throughout the East Coast and Southern markets."

The appointment accompanies Inszone's push to add locations across the East Coast and the Southern United States. Under Strong, the East Region is expected to offer structured paths for growth, training, and hands-on experience spanning multiple lines of insurance business.
