Insurance Business America has released its Top Insurance Employers 2026 special report, identifying insurance companies and agencies that met its employee satisfaction threshold for inclusion among the best insurance employers to work for in the US.
The organizations recognized range from a 4,000-person national wholesale brokerage headquartered outside Chicago to a 67-person retail agency in Springfield, Missouri, founded in 1885. Ownership structures also vary, with one employer owned by a publicly traded global broker and another partly owned by its own frontline employees.
Insurance Business America based the 2026 rankings on information supplied by participating organizations and feedback from their employees. Organizations seeking consideration were asked to complete an employer form covering areas including benefits, programs, and workplace practices. Employees at nominated companies were then invited to complete an anonymous survey assessing their workplace. The survey measured employee views across compensation, benefits, workplace culture, employee development, and commitment to diversity and inclusion.
The methodology also included a minimum response requirement that varied according to the overall size of each organization. This was intended to ensure that companies were assessed using a sufficient number of employee responses relative to their workforce. To qualify for the 2026 list, organizations needed to achieve an average employee satisfaction rating of at least 75% among their own employees. Companies meeting that threshold were recognized as among the best insurance employers to work for in the US for 2026.
