A series of leadership appointments across the insurance and financial services sectors include Beth Robertson (pictured) at NFP; Katarzyna Kompowska and Christian Stoffel at Coface; Mike Powell at Core Specialty; Jason Doiron at National Life Group; and Paul Carnegie and Whitney Alt at Velocity Risk Underwriters.
NFP, an Aon company, has named Robertson president of health and benefits, based in Austin, Texas. She reports to executive vice president Ed O’Malley and succeeds Kim Bell, who is retiring. Robertson had served as co-leader of the division since January 2025.
The company said Robertson brings more than 25 years of experience across employee benefits, human resources, and financial management. She first joined NFP in 2005 and has held roles including vice president of strategic accounts and regional managing director. She also spent time at Mercer before returning to NFP in 2017.
O’Malley said Robertson has been “instrumental in shaping our strategy and execution,” while Robertson said she aims to build on the firm’s existing momentum as employers navigate a “complex and shifting” benefits landscape.
Coface has announced the appointment of Kompowska as CEO of strategic partnerships, a newly created role covering all business lines.
Kompowska, who joined Coface in 1992, previously served as CEO of the Northern Europe region. She will join the Group Management Committee and report to CEO Xavier Durand.
Stoffel will succeed Kompowska as managing director of Northern Europe. Stoffel, previously sales director for the region, will oversee strategy execution and customer engagement. He joins the executive committee and also reports to Durand.
Coface said the appointments, effective May 1, reflect continuity in leadership and a focus on long-term value creation.
Core Specialty Insurance Holdings has appointed Powell as executive vice president and general counsel, replacing Robert Kuzloski, who is retiring.
Powell recently served as deputy general counsel and corporate secretary at Fifth Third Bank, where he oversaw governance and compliance. He also held roles at Teradata Corporation and law firms in Washington, D.C.
CEO Jeff Consolino said Powell’s experience in corporate and transactional matters will support the company’s growth. The firm also acknowledged Kuzloski’s contributions since its recapitalization in 2020.
National Life Group has named Doiron chief executive officer of NLG Capital, its investment affiliate. Doiron will continue to serve as executive vice president and chief investment officer.
The company said Doiron will lead the next phase of growth while maintaining oversight of investment strategy. Since becoming CIO in 2016, he has helped expand assets from under $20 billion to more than $65 billion.
Chairman and CEO Mehran Assadi described Doiron as “an innovative leader” with a track record in volatile markets.
Velocity Risk Underwriters, part of Ryan Specialty Underwriting Managers, has promoted Carnegie to president and Alt to chief distribution officer, effective May 1.
Carnegie, previously chief underwriting officer, will oversee operating performance and strategy execution. Alt, formerly vice president of distribution, will lead distribution strategy across the company’s underwriting units.
Company executives said the promotions reflect efforts to strengthen leadership as the firm expands its presence in specialty property insurance.
