Liberty Mutual Insurance has appointed Wes Hyatt (pictured) as president of Global Risk Solutions (GRS) North America Distribution and Global Client Engagement, the company announced Thursday.

In her expanded role, Hyatt will oversee end-to-end market engagement, including distribution, field operations, broker strategy, client engagement, and marketing. The move is intended to deliver Liberty Mutual’s commercial and specialty capabilities to the market with greater coordination and speed.

Hyatt is a 22-year veteran of Liberty Mutual, previously served as global chief client officer, where she built a client-focused practice centered on collaboration and risk management. Before that, she was senior vice president of Workers Compensation Claims, leading initiatives to strengthen the company’s workers compensation business. She is based in Boston.

GRS North America president Marc Orloff cited Hyatt’s experience as a key factor in the decision. He said the reorganization is designed to streamline how clients and partners access the company’s offerings.

“Wes is the ideal leader to unite our broker and client teams under one organization,” he said. “When we operate together, we move faster, show up more consistently, and make it easier for clients, brokers, and agents to access the full breadth of Liberty Mutual’s commercial and specialty capabilities,” Orloff noted.

The appointment comes amid a broader reshaping of Liberty Mutual’s GRS business. In February, the insurer named Matthew Moore president of GRS.

The leadership transition was followed by restructuring announced in April, when Liberty Mutual created a new Global Risk & Capital Solutions leadership framework designed to strengthen coordination between its underwriting and investment operations while advancing the group’s long-term growth strategy.
