Nationwide has announced that its long-time chief information officer, Michael Keller, will retire later this year.
Keller has served as Nationwide’s CIO since 2001. During his tenure, he “transform(ed) the company’s IT organization,” according to Nationwide.
“Given the strategic importance of information technology to Nationwide’s success, we have initiated a search that will include both internal and external candidates for Mike’s replacement,” CEO Steve Rasmussen said.
The company projects that it will name Keller’s replacement sometime in the second half of the year. Keller will remain in his position through the transition.
Prior to joining Nationwide, Keller served as chief technology officer at JPMorgan Chase. He also held several executive positions at IBM.
“Mike’s deep knowledge of the industry and his ability to strategically plan for the long term have helped to move Nationwide forward and to further build our reputation as a customer-focused company,” Rasmussen said. “He has been an incredible business partner, a mentor to many, and an influencer not only within our company, but in the technology and business communities.”
