Major US insurance firm Allstate has further cemented its presence in the UK with the construction of their biggest office in Northern Ireland in 15 years.

Joined by Minister for the Economy Simon Hamilton, the company’s top executives recently laid the foundation stone at the new Belfast headquarters building on the banks of the River Lagan, News Letter reported.

The insurer’s 1,300 employees who are based in Belfast will move into their new office by January 2018.

John Healy, Allstate managing director in Belfast, said that the new office will be “ground-breaking facility” for the insurer.

“The new development increases the size of our current Belfast office and gives us the opportunity to create an inspirational working space fit for a world-class technology organisation with a commitment to innovation, imagination and building digital technology of the future,” News Letter quoted Healy as saying.

“Technology will be at the heart of our progressive new workspace, and it will give everyone at Allstate NI the freedom to work creatively and collaboratively,” he added.

Allstate executive vice president Suren Gupta said that Northern Ireland is an excellent source for talent.

He said local employees played a vital role in the development and growth of Allstate’s business in the area.

“Our investment in this new flagship office in Belfast demonstrates our commitment to Northern Ireland,” News Letter quoted Gupta as saying.
