It’s been a big week of announcements for Marsh & McLennan Agency LLC (MMA). Just days after the Marsh subsidiary announced its acquisition of Momentous Insurance Brokerage in Los Angeles, the middle market agency has introduced a new CEO to the mix.

Peter Kruase has been appointed as MMA Southeast regional CEO, effective immediately. Based in Atlanta, he will report directly to David Eslick, chairman and CEO of MMA, and will assume leadership of MMA’s operations in Georgia, Alabama, Tennessee, Kentucky, and Tallahassee, Florida.

The new leader, who brings more than 30 years of experience to the role, is no stranger to MMA. He most recently served as president of MMA’s Southeast region. Before joining the agency, he was senior vice president, managing director, and marketing manager of J. Smith Lanier & Co.

Commenting on Krause’s appointment, Eslick said: “Clients, carriers, and colleagues will benefit from Peter’s exceptional industry knowledge and leadership as we continue to deliver services and solutions that provide midsize firms with the protection they need to operate and grow in today’s challenging risk environment.”

Krause succeeds Gary Ivey in the CEO position. Ivey will continue as an advisor to MMA Southeast throughout the remainder of 2020.

“I’m honored to assume leadership of this great organization across the Southeast,” Krause commented, “and I look forward to continuing our focus on providing clients with world-class property/casualty insurance and employee benefit services.”
