Selective Insurance makes several key officer appointments

Selective Insurance Company of America, a subsidiary of Selective Insurance Group, has made a number of officer appointments in its property, risk, and personal lines business.

Matthew Caton has been promoted to vice-president, property claims. Caton joined Selective in 2015, initially as assistant vice-president, property claims. Before that, he served as associate manager of property claims for North and South Carolina for Travelers Insurance. He is a recipient of a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Marshall University in West Virginia and has two designations: Associate in Claims and Associate in Insurance Services.

John Hsu has been tapped to serve as assistant vice-president, enterprise risk management. Hsu joined Selective in July 2017. Prior to joining Selective, he was a chief reserving actuary at Hallmark Financial Services. He earned his Master of Actuarial Science at Georgia State University in Atlanta, Georgia and his Bachelor of Business Administration at National Chung Hsing University in Taipei, Taiwan. Hsu is a fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society.

Finally, Lisa Petza was selected to serve as assistant vice-president, personal lines marketing. She joined Selective in 2007 as a senior personal lines marketing specialist. She was previously a senior personal lines marketing specialist at Zurich Insurance. Petza earned her bachelor’s degree in Business Management at Stevenson University in Maryland, and has a Certified Insurance Counselor designation.
