XS Brokers (XSB), an independent insurance underwriting and wholesale brokerage group, has announced the formation of a new cyber liability product division.

The division will be led by Scott Burns (pictured above), who has been promoted to senior vice president.

The company says that the launch of the cyber liability division reflects XS Brokers' strategy to address the growing demand for cyber insurance coverage. Cyber liability has become one of the fastest-growing lines of insurance in recent years, driven by increasing digital risks across industries.

Scott Burns joined XS Brokers in 2018 as a cyber liability specialist. Since then, he has expanded the company’s market access and strengthened relationships with carrier partners, establishing XS Brokers as a national provider of cyber insurance solutions.

In his new role, Burns will oversee the division’s growth strategy, focusing on sales expansion and collaboration with key carrier and retail partners.

Eric Wirkus, president of XS Brokers, said that Burns is well-positioned to lead the division due to his collaborative approach and deep understanding of the evolving cyber insurance landscape.

“Scott is the ideal person to lead this new product line division – he is collaborative, vigilant in driving product awareness, and remains at the forefront of this ever-changing product line,” Wirkus said.

Burns, who has more than 12 years of industry experience, expressed enthusiasm for his new role. He noted that his time at XS Brokers has involved helping clients manage current and emerging risk exposures.

“We have had to help clients meet their present needs while also looking to the future to understand and manage dynamic risk exposures. This task has been made easier thanks to XS Brokers' stellar industry reputation,” Burns said.

Licensed in all 50 states, XS Brokers has over 30 binding authority facilities and strategic carrier partnerships. The company has recorded 17% year-over-year growth for the past decade.
