Specialist insurer Beazley has announced the appointment of four new underwriters in its Chicago-based cyber and executive risk (CyEx) division.

Jon Perry and Megan Feyereisen have joined the company as executive risk underwriters, while Brett Kreiter and Rich Michaels will underwrite cyber and technology errors and omissions.

“We have an incredible team and we’re excited to continue to strengthen this division, and particularly to build out our offering in the Midwest,” said Bethany Greenwood, global head of cyber and executive risk at Beazley. “Jon, Megan, Brett and Rich bring significant underwriting and leadership experience, as we continue to serve our brokers and clients and build on the strong growth we have seen in the US over recent months.”

Perry joins Beazley from Allied World, where he served as a public D&O underwriter in the Midwest. Prior to that, he was an executive risk underwriter at Travelers.

Feyereisen previously led the Midwest cyber and executive risk underwriting team at Hiscox. She has also served as an underwriter at Chubb.

Kreiter joins from Zurich, where he served as underwriter for large accounts and head of the US middle market. In addition to his new role as a cyber and technology E&O underwriter, Kreiter will also serve as regional manager of Beazley’s Midwest team.

Michaels previously served as lead cyber and E&O underwriter for the Midwest and South at Allianz.

The new appointments come 18 months after Beazley’s cyber and tech team and executive risk team – including D&O, employment practice liability, and M&A insurance – merged to form the CyEx division. Last year, CyEx accounted for 27% of Beazley’s gross written premiums.
