Brit has announced the appointment of Douglas Ruhlman as assistant vice president of cyber for Brit Global Specialty USA (BGSU).

Ruhlman will join BGSU’s cyber and technology team and will report to Jeff Norton, senior vice president for cyber liability. Ruhlman will work closely with Norton to support the underwriting and growth of Brit’s US cyber portfolio.

Prior to joining Brit, Ruhlman worked at AIG as a commercial underwriter for financial lines, with a focus on large cyber accounts. He began his career at AIG as an account analyst.

Ruhlman’s introduction follows the appointments of Jim Patterson as vice president, cyber and technology, and Ryan Mimmo as vice president, cyber and technology for BGSU in July.

“Cyber is an important growth area for Brit, both globally and here in the US, and I am encouraged by the outstanding team we have built to support this expansion,” said Nick Davies, president of Brit Americas. “In the last few months we have made a number of strong hires while also launching our e-trading portal for cyber risks. Together, this is a demonstration of our focus on combining underwriting expertise with service excellence.”
