Brit has announced the appointment of Jeff Norton as senior vice president of cyber and technology for Brit Global Specialty USA (BGSU). Norton will be based in Chicago and will report to Tom Bongi, executive vice president of professional liability. In his new role, Norton will be responsible for leading and growing BGSU’s cyber and technology team.

Prior to joining BGSU, Norton worked as a senior underwriter for private enterprise at Beazley Group. In that role, he led the company’s US private enterprise cyber offering to eight years of profitable growth. Norton also spent more than 10 years at Marquis Agency, leading its professional liability team and overseeing the expansion of the company’s capabilities as an insurance broker and risk management provider to professional service firms.

Norton’s hire continues the growth of BGSU’s cyber offering, which was launched in 2017.

“We are pleased to announce another excellent hire to lead and strengthen our cyber and technology offering,” said Nick Davies, president of Brit Americas. “Jeff has a strong reputation as a cyber underwriter, and also brings a clear track record of leading and growing profitable specialty lines teams. We look forward to developing our capabilities and client proposition within cyber under his direction.”

“BGSU has made a number of impressive senior hires over the last 18 months, and we look forward to the role which Jeff will play in leading our cyber and technology team in the US, complementing the market-leading offering we have established in the London market,” said Brit CEO Matthew Wilson.
