CRC Group has added four professionals to its CRC Specialty division. The hires cover property, casualty, cyber, and underwriting lines.
Ryan Snyder leads the group in seniority. He joined as a senior broker with the INSURETrust team in Philadelphia. Snyder brings more than a decade of experience in cyber liability, management liability, and professional liability, with a focus on executive and cyber risk exposures.
Snyder’s hire fits a documented shift in wholesale cyber demand. Submission volume for cyber coverage is rising faster than wholesale capacity can absorb it. Pipeline delays among MGAs and wholesalers are increasing as a result. Contractual provisions are demanding cyber at higher limits, with take-up rates rising in historically underinsured sectors, including construction and wholesale distribution.
Greyson Plummer joined as a property broker aligned with CRC’s New York office, based in Dallas. His background covers account placement, market development, and carrier relationship management.
Brent Gates Jr. joined as a casualty broker in Minneapolis. He brings experience in casualty placements, risk management strategy, and client relationship development.
Ansley Johnston joined as an underwriter in Sumter, South Carolina. Her background covers underwriting, risk assessment, and coverage analysis for retail agency partners.
The four specialisms map to an E&S market in transition. Surplus lines premium across the 15 stamping office states reached $90.3 billion through year-end 2025, up 7.8% from 2024, according to the WSIA.
AM Best revised its US E&S segment outlook from positive to stable in late 2025. Property lines are softening while casualty and liability lines remain under pressure from social inflation and rising claim severity.
The hires extend a period of active platform build-out at CRC. The firm completed its acquisition of Lloyd’s managing agency Atrium Underwriting Group in January 2026. That deal broadened CRC’s capabilities from wholesale brokerage into underwriting.
The appointments across both functions follow the same directional logic.
