Inszone Insurance Services has pushed into Florida through the acquisition of Coastal Insurance Services, LLC and its Illinois-based affiliate Optimal Insurance Solutions, Inc., handing the national brokerage its first office in the state and a foothold in one of the largest US insurance markets.
The two agencies, both led by industry veteran Rolando Gonzalez, will operate under the Inszone banner as the buyer looks to extend its reach across the Southeast.
Coastal Insurance Services was founded in Florida in 2008, building its book in the personal lines segment over more than a decade and a half.
Gonzalez launched Optimal Insurance Solutions in Illinois in 2020, with a focus on commercial lines and concentrations in the contracting and trucking industries. Optimal's growth has been driven largely by client referrals rather than traditional marketing channels.
In May 2024, Gonzalez brought Coastal Insurance Services under the Optimal umbrella, combining the two operations' commercial and personal coverage capabilities ahead of the sale to Inszone.
Continued referral-driven growth at both agencies prompted Gonzalez to look for a partner that could provide additional infrastructure to support further scale.
"I reached a point with both agencies where I needed to find a partner who could provide the back-office support I needed to take things to the next level," Gonzalez said in a statement.
Gonzalez said that conversations with Inszone chief executive officer Chris Walters made the decision straightforward, adding that the partnership would allow the agencies to offer clients more long-term options and capture a larger share of the market without diluting their relationship-driven approach.
Walters said Gonzalez had built an operation supported by his reputation and expertise in complex commercial markets such as trucking and contracting.
"We are especially excited to establish our first office in Florida with the Coastal team and to begin building a strong presence in this important market," Walters said.
He added that partnering with Gonzalez and his team positions Inszone to extend its footprint in the Southeast while continuing to develop its capabilities in both commercial and personal lines.
The Florida move follows a string of similar deals from Inszone, including the April 2026 acquisition of Mark Crawford Insurance Agency, which extended the firm's reach into Pennsylvania.
The Sacramento-based brokerage has pursued a steady cadence of regional tuck-ins, focused on independent agencies with established local books that can plug into its national carrier panel and back-office platform.
The existing teams at Coastal Insurance and Optimal Insurance Solutions will remain in place following the deal, continuing to serve clients with access to Inszone's back-office support, technology platform, and broader carrier relationships.
