Mergers & Acquisitions

Two rapidly growing US insurance brokerage have announced new acquisitions, adding long-established regional agencies with strong local roots and specialist expertise to their portfolios.

Trucordia acquires Idaho-based Richardson Insurance

Trucordia has acquired the assets of Richardson Insurance, a full‑service personal and commercial lines agency based in Idaho.

Richardson Insurance began with a focus on helping Idaho drivers secure appropriate coverage at a time when many were uninsured. The agency later expanded into mortgage and real estate‑related products, developing into a provider of a broad range of personal and commercial lines solutions

Founded in 1988 by Randy Richardson, the firm has built a loyal client base over nearly four decades by emphasizing education, accessibility and long‑term relationships.

With the acquisition, Trucordia adds a longstanding Idaho business with a strong retention record and deep community ties. Richardson’s clients are expected to continue receiving the same client‑first service, while gaining access to a wider range of carrier options and resources under the Trucordia umbrella.

“We welcome the Richardson team to Trucordia,” said Felix Morgan, CEO of Trucordia. “Randy and his team have spent 38 years making sure every client understands their coverage solutions and feels taken care of. That kind of commitment to education and personal service is something we deeply value, and it's a natural fit for what Trucordia is building.”

Inszone adds Arkansas agency Smith & Company Insurance

Inszone Insurance Services has acquired Smith & Company Insurance, Inc., further strengthening its footprint across Arkansas.

Smith & Company Insurance traces its origins back to 1904, giving the agency more than a century of history in its local communities. The Smith family formally acquired the business in 1971 and has since built it into a trusted regional institution.

The agency is co‑owned by Mark Smith, Drew Higginbothom and William Smith, who have expanded its operations while maintaining a focus on “hometown” service.

Over time, Smith & Company Insurance has developed a successful aviation division and built a significant presence in commercial agriculture, in addition to writing policies for multiple banks throughout the region.

“Smith & Company Insurance brings a remarkable legacy and highly specialized industry knowledge to our team,” said Chris Walters, CEO of Inszone Insurance Services. “Mark, Drew, William, and their entire staff have built an incredible reputation in Arkansas. We are thrilled to welcome them to Inszone and provide the expanded national resources they need to continue their outstanding work for their clients.”
