Church Mutual Insurance Company will be holding a seminar on how to deal with armed intruders, which will be open to organizations based in Atlanta, GA.

The insurer has teamed up with industry experts ALICE Training Institute and Secure Education Consultants to create the seminar, which teaches organizations how to develop plans and procedures to keep their people safe before, during, and after a violent attack.

Church Mutual claims that it is the first insurer to offer this type of training to houses of worship, schools and non-profit organizations. Since it began its educational program in 2017, Church Mutual has helped over 2,500 people.

The latest seminar will be held on November 14, at the Zion Hill Baptist Church in Atlanta, GA.

In a release, Church Mutual reported that more than one in 10 Americans do not feel safe in their church of place of worship. The same study also found that 45% of survey participants said that they fear the entrance of an armed intruder during services.

On top of offering the seminar, Church Mutual has made available an armed intruder resource kit on its website. The resource – which features instructional videos, checklists, FAQs, and important assessment and planning guides – is available to anyone to download for free.
