Burns & Wilcox has announced the appointment of Andy Wood as vice president and practice group leader for professional liability.

Wood transitions to Burns & Wilcox after a notable stint at Hiscox, where he managed a broad portfolio across the Midwest. His portfolio included areas such as technology, errors & omissions (E&O), cyber, and management liability, among others.

With a career spanning nearly 30 years, Wood has held various positions at Insureon, Willis, and CNA, bringing a wealth of experience and industry knowledge to his new role.

In his new position at Burns & Wilcox, Wood is tasked with shaping a unified strategy for the professional liability practice, introducing new products and programs, and spearheading the recruitment of leading professional liability professionals nationwide.

Operating out of Chicago, Wood will directly report to Burns & Wilcox president Danny Kaufman.

“Andy joins Burns & Wilcox with a proven track record of outstanding business development, underwriting and broking excellence, as well as advanced technology deployment,” Kaufman said. “He already maintains great relationships across Burns & Wilcox and will be able to step in immediately. We look forward to driving even more substantial growth under Andy’s leadership.”
