Burns & Wilcox has appointed Pamela Alphabet (pictured) to the role of regional practice group leader, western region, personal insurance.

Alphabet will be based in Scottsdale, AZ in her new role. She will partner with the company’s offices in California, Arizona, and Nevada to provide a focused regional strategy that will not only help build expertise, but also strengthen relationships with national retail partners. She will report to Burns & Wilcox corporate senior vice-president, national practice group leader of personal insurance Bill Gatewood.

“Pamela’s underwriting and sales acumen and experience in high-risk wildfire states will be an indispensable asset for our Burns & Wilcox offices in the Western Region,” said Gatewood, who also mentioned that Alphabet’s appointment completes Burns & Wilcox’s practice group structure.

Alphabet was most recently serving as an underwriting consultant for Nationwide Private Client, where she handled large VIP accounts across California. She also has experience working as a retail agent and a territory sales manager for a wholesale operation. She has held a number of underwriting and sales positions with Nationwide Private Client and Fireman’s Fund.

“After 20 years’ experience in personal insurance for the affluent market, my greatest strengths involve developing and maintaining relationships that optimize profitability,” commented Alphabet. “I am honored to bring my expertise to this leadership role with the personal insurance practice group. Burns & Wilcox is well-equipped with reputable experts across the country, positioning us to be effective in competitive markets, like the western region.”

Earlier this week, Burns & Wilcox appointed John Woods as vice-president, national practice group leader of transportation.
