National specialty insurance brokerage Risk Strategies has announced the appointment of Paul Evans as an executive vice president in its national entertainment practice.

Evans has more than 30 years of industry experience. He joins Risk Strategies from Marsh, where he worked in the hospitality, media and entertainment industry practice. Originally from London, Evans led the UK and European sports, media and entertainment practice at HSBC prior to joining Marsh.

In his new role, Evans will focus primarily on advertising, content production and contingency business.

“We’re thrilled that Paul has chosen to join the Risk Strategies family,” said Bob Dubraski, chief growth officer at Risk Strategies. “Paul has a very strong specialty background and will be a great addition to the entertainment practice team.”

Evans has expertise in film, television, advertising, adverse weather, prize indemnity, brand reputational risk, and more.

“Paul’s deep entertainment industry experience will be of immediate and great benefit to our clients,” said John Hamby, entertainment practice leader at Risk Strategies.

“As someone who has worked exclusively in sports, media and entertainment insurance for three decades, I saw in Risk Strategies a true specialty brokerage where I could work collaboratively with other specialists to create effective solutions for complex client challenges,” Evans said. “I’m excited to join the Risk Strategies team.”
